Fireworks Cancelled in Steamboat Springs on the 4th

We were dreading this decision and today it’s official - Fireworks Cancelled in Steamboat Springs on the 4th. We saw this coming and knew if nothing changed, the 4th of July might not have fireworks.

But Steamboat is still a great place to spend the 4th and you should not cancel your trip just because there’s no fireworks. There’s still millions of things to do around town.

“In addition to the city’s fireworks display, Stewart said the city would be enforcing Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper’s executive order from last week that bans open burning and the private use of fireworks. Stewart said he interprets that to mean all fireworks, even sparklers.”

Steamboat today goes into more details here.
