As you approach Steamboat Springs off of rabbit ears pass, one the more memorable vista is looking down onto the South Valley of Routt County. The South Valley is south of steamboat springs and begins just outside the city limits. It’s a large area that included many smaller areas like Dakota Ridge, Country Green, Blacktail mountain, Catamount Ranch and Catamount Lake, Stagecoach, to name a few and several smaller towns like Oat creek, Phippsburg and Yampa.

South Valley is known for it’s wide open views, productive farm lands, and typically warmer temperatures.

There are a wide variety of homes in all price ranges. South Valley is also associated with acreage. From 2 to 2000, if you’re looking for space, there’s plenty of acreage available in South Valley.

Catamount lake, on the way through pleasant valley is one of the most spectacular areas in South Valley. This area also provides endless winter and summer activates from cross-country skiing, biking, hiking, fishing and exploring. Stagecoach lake is also near by providing ample recreational activities like: sailing, water skiing, canoeing, fishing, and of course wonderful swimming in the summertime.
