Wild West Air Fest helps close out summer in Steamboat Springs

If you’re a local, you’ve probably observed that our mornings have been growing progressively cooler.  As August turns to September, the change of seasons will soon bring with it the crisp clear nights and frosty mornings that are characteristic of the autumn and winter seasons in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  Although it seems as though summer is coming to a close in our little mountain town, there’s no need to be sad because there’s a grand celebration on the horizon.  It’s the 8th Annual Wild West Air Fest and Labor Day Weekend Celebration!

The festivities begin Friday, August 31st and continue through to the following Monday, September 2.  The weekend includes a vintage and warbird static aircraft display, classic cars, radio controlled airplane shows, a Wings over the Rockies KidSpace and so much more.  Click here for more information about all the happenings.  Click here to see the official schedule.

And…to add to the fun, you can be a part of the action by taking a ride in a Douglas C-47, a 1944 Beechcraft D-17S Staggerwing, a 1941 Piper J-3 Cub or a 1945 Grumman TBM Avenger WWII Navy Bomber!  Pricing and contact information can be found towards the bottom of the page here.
