ARAPAHOE BASIN ADDED TO IKON PASS RESORTS

If you haven’t heard of the Ikon Pass yet, crawl up from under that rock and check it out. Of course you have heard of it, but have you been keeping up with all of the benefits? This pass allows you to explore iconic destinations around the world from places as far as Niseko United in Japan to Heli Skiing in British Columbia to right out your backyard in good ol’ Steamboat Springs, USA. And it keeps getting better and better.

The Ikon Pass just announced that it has added Arapahoe Basin Ski Area to its list of resorts for the 2019/2020 season, which now includes 40 global destinations and six in Colorado.

This is great news for skiers and riders who want to extend their season, since A-Basin boasts the longest ski season in Colorado, many times running through the 4th of July.

Ikon Pass holders will get seven days at A-Basin on the Ikon Pass with no blackout dates, and five days on the Ikon Base Pass with selected blackout dates.

The resort is also famous for the “A-Basin Beach.” The Beach backs up to lower mountain chairlifts and a great spot to set up camp and relax between runs, or catch up with friends and family. There are 10-15 spots available for reservations (dependent on snow conditions), and the other spots are first-come, first-served. Each spot has room for two vehicles and a picnic table. In Spring, the Beach becomes an apres-ski hub for locals and visitors alike. It is an experience unique to A-Basin and an additional draw to the resort for many skiers and riders.

“Arapahoe Basin is thrilled to partner with the Ikon Pass and join its community of like-minded mountain destinations,” said Alan Henceroth, Chief Operating Officer, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area. “A-Basin is a bold, aspirational mountain with legendary character that invites skiers and riders to find adventure at every turn, an ideal fit for the Ikon Pass.”

With the addition of A-Basin, Ikon Pass holders have access to six Colorado resorts, including Steamboat, Aspen Snowmass, Winter Park Resort, Copper Mountain, and Eldora Mountain Resort.

Other resorts on the Ikon Pass include Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain and Big Bear Mountain Resort in California; Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming; Big Sky Resort in Montana; Deer Valley, Solitude, Brighton, Alta and Snowbird in Utah; Stratton, Killington and Sugarbush Resort in Vermont; Snowshoe in West Virginia; as well as resorts in Michigan, Washington, Maine, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Chile and Canada.
